New Scott Pilgrim Stuff

This just made my day.

That's the latest official image from Edgar Wright's Scott Pilgrim vs. The World; the movie I made #1 on my Most Anticipated list. It shows Scott (played by Michael Cera) fighting two unidentified baddies with his flaming katana, which is referred to as "the power of love" in the books (see what it looks like in the book). Meanwhile, Gideon (played by Jason Schwartzman) and Ramona (played by Mary Elizabeth Winstead) watch in the background from the top of a pyramid structure. Lots of lens flare. Reminds me of Star Trek. I'm sure it won't be like this through the whole movie. The fight scenes are going to be great, though.

Other than that, there hasn't been any new news. The movie is still in the editing process and all of the fans are anticipating a trailer. There have been a few new unofficial images other than the above, so let's take a looksie.

Here's another official image which shows all of the main characters of the film. From left to right, Scott Pilgrim (Cera), Ramona Flowers (MEW), Young Neil (Johnny Simmons), Knives Chau (Ellen Wong), Kim Pine (Allison Pill), and Stephen Stills (Mark Webber). For those that haven't read the books, Knives has blue hair because she's copying Ramona for stealing Scott Pilgrim from her. I think it's cute.

Character breakdowns posted. Very clear picture of Gideon who you don't see much in the comics. Also, an error on Young Neil's panel which has a picture of Scott. I'm such an SP nerd. =P

A very simple editing outline for the opening. Pointing occurs a lot in the series.

Frame of Ramona on the screens in the edit room. Edgar calls this "The Winstead Effect". Definition: the 15 minutes that gets lost when any member of the post production team looks directly in Ramona’s eyes. Agreed.

Ellen Wong sent Edgar Wright and editor Paul Machliss some delicious Asian snacks while they are cutting the film.

Speaking of Ellen Wong, here is Knives trying to figure out which color hair dye to buy. Hint: The answer is in the second picture above. =D

A few fake movies starring the character Lucas Lee (played by Chris Evans) who is one of the evil ex-boyfriends. "Action Doctor" sounds the best. Almost as good as "Face Punch".

Scott Pilgrim creator Bryan Lee O'Malley with director Edgar Wright. Two geniuses.

I really think this movie is going to be big. Not big in an Avatar kind of way, but big. I can't wait for the trailer! To see and read my previous posts about Scott Pilgrim, click here and here.
