I've given my desk yet another face-lift despite probably moving within the next few weeks. First off, I got a new laptop. It's an HP EliteBook 8530w, which unfortunately does not come with an i7 chip, but rather a 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo and 8 GB of RAM. Running 64-bit Windows 7, of course, and I love it. Loved my last laptop, too, but it is time to say good-bye.
I found a matching 16:9 monitor to go with the one I already had, so I set up dual monitor with my new laptop docking station. Before, I would use dual monitor, but one of the displays would be the one on the laptop itself. Now I have two nice 22" widescreen displays.
Just as a refresher, here is what my desk looked like when I first started working at Microsoft:
Haha! Pretty lame, huh? Well, then we got our new desks, so it looked like this:
More desk space and at a more normal height. Then I got my one monitor to go above my laptop:
And here is what my desk looks like today:
I love it. Like I said, I'll probably have to change desks/cubicles in the next few weeks, but I'll probably keep this configuration. Gonna miss my TV though. Maybe I'll be able to convince them to get me cable at my new desk. ^^;
