Foto Friday - 3/9/12

This is my sixty-eighth Foto Friday post. This is my first post since the new website design, so now you'll be able to see the pictures on the page in a larger size instead of having to click on them. The pictures today are from our Oscars Party, craft fair, and Keith's birthday. Full set with all 40 photos can be viewed here.

I was walking by one of the stages at work and I saw a lonely camera just sitting in the middle of our white wall. Decided that it looked cool enough to take a pic.

Well, we had what I believe was our fourth annual Oscars Party, which was a big success. As we always do, we invited everyone to bring a food dish for a "This is Why You're Fat" potluck. This year, Bethany and I made candy sushi, which was a huge hit. Here are the makizushi (rolled sushi) we made with grape Fruit Roll-Ups, Rice Krispie Treats, Twizzlers, gummy worms, and candied licorice.

Then we made a nigirizushi (hand-formed sushi) with Rice Krispie Treats, large Swedish Fish, and a thin strip of Fruit Roll-Ups.

The last candy sushi we made was a gunkanmaki (warship roll sushi). It had the Rice Krispie Treats and Fruit Roll-Ups with strawberry Nerds to looks like salmon roe and pieces of Pocky sticks.

We laid out the red carpet for our guests and had a trivia and predictions contest as usual.

We got one of those cut-out door hang things from the party store and had all our guests take pictures there. I'll spare you all 10 shots I took, so view the full set on Flickr if you want to see all our attendees.

I made Deep Dish Sourdough Jack Pizza Burgers yet again since they're always a hit at the party. They were devoured almost instantly. Should have made more. But, yes, that is a Sourdough Jack from Jack in the Box stuffed between two mini deep dish pepperoni pizzas.

The food that won our contest were these cheesy mashed potatoes in bacon cups. Very yummy, and very dangerous.

There was a nice craft fair for kids in Kent last weekend and we took Julie there. Lots of different crafts to do. Here she is making designs in clay.

JJ's beautiful design. There were many other stations like making button pins, face painting, wax hand molds, and more.

Happy girl.

Making a bracelet.

Sewing a bean bag with an old sewing machine.

Yesterday was Keith's birthday and we celebrated as a family with dinner and this baseball cake that Bethany made. To see more pictures of the cake, the crafts fair, and our Oscar Party, view the full set.
