Foto Friday - 4/6/12

This is my seventieth Foto Friday post. The pictures today are from an office prank, skiing, and our new fridge. Full set with all 23 photos can be viewed here.

Before we get into the skiing pictures, I wanted to share this prank that one of the teams I work with did to a co-worker who went on vacation. I'm sure you've seen the foil office prank before, but it's so much more fun to look at when you actually know the person they did it to. I didn't get to see Annie's reaction to this, but I bet it was priceless.

My dad and I took Juliana up for skiing again. This is the fourth time she's gone this year. Her improvement is just beyond words. She can stop, turn, and carve down the bunny slope with ease. Next time we go up, whether it's this season or next, we're going to take her on the big lifts.

We went up to Crystal Mountain again which is still the nicest and largest ski area close to us. Here's Julie going through the automatic gates before the Discovery chair lift. Crystal just started using the RFID card system last season and it works alright for the most part. Flakes out every now and then, but the attendants usually help you out.

Julie really got a kick out of the first time we took her on the chair lift. She's slightly too short to get on the chair without my or my dad's assistance, but I've been having her get off the chair lift without us and she's doing great. Still has never fallen getting on or off the thing.

Instagram, eat your heart out.

It's fun to watch Julie zip by other beginner skiers, some who are many years older than her.

Our skis. My skis are going into their fourth season. They need some wax. We rent Julie's, but I'm considering finding her some used skis off Craig's List for next season. Rentals aren't expensive, but neither is buying them. I think my dad's ski are in their second season and are doing great.

We took a break during skiing to have some fun in the snow. Here is Julie making a snow angel.

Such a happy little skier!

There was a big demo event going on that day.

There was powder around, but since it was so cold the night before, a lot of it was crusty. To see more pictures from our ski day, view the full set.

We did a craft with Julie where she made Easter cards with a hand print lamb on them. You can find the tutorial here if you want to make some with your kids.

Last weekend, we bought a new fridge since our old one started to make some pretty gnarly ticking sounds. We love the French door style, so we shopped a lot. Turns out that Fry's Electronics has some of the best prices on refrigerators. Our new one was delivered today and we love it. A lot more space and a cool touch screen on the front.
