Coral recently got over her first cold. I had caught it first somehow, which barely ever happens. It got passed to Coral because I can't resist kissing those cheekers. Still, it wasn't the worst cold, so she is doing fine. By the way, yes, she still has beautiful blue eyes. We're wondering if they're going to stay that way. Bethany, Juliana, and I all have brown eyes, but Bethany's dad and my dad both have blue eyes. I guess we'll see.
I attended my friend Ricky's bachelor party last Friday. He wanted to just stay up late playing multiplayer video games, so we did just that. He booked a hotel conference room and we set up gaming systems all around. There were lots of snacks there, as you can see. It was like old times again in high school and college.
I played LittleBigPlanet 2, Castle Crashers, tried PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale (it sucks), NFL Street 2, Fuzion Frenzy, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, and Gears of War 2. Here is Mark playing some Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Video games is a topic I don't speak about as often as I'd like on here. I still game a lot, but not as much as I used to. I've been trying to earn a bunch of PlayStation Network trophies and enjoying some family-friendly games like the LEGO series and, right now, Katamari Forever.
There were also some board games there. I've kind of fallen out of the loop when it comes to new board games these days. I know Ticket to Ride is really popular right now, but I've never played it. Then there's Carcasonne, 7 Wonders, Dominion, and The Settlers of Catan. All games that I'd love to play one day. In this picture, Jason is taking his turn playing Munchkin Quest.
On Saturday, we went with Tawnya's friends to their new property out on Harstine Island in the Puget Sound. They're planning on building a vacation home out there. Since they haven't gotten started yet, we all decided to visit, check it out, and visit the beach and the swimming pool there.
I hope they'll invite us again to visit when their house is done. It's only an hour and 40 minute drive from our place in Kent. No crowds at the beach.
Here's the spot that we picked out on the beach for our picnic and fun. It was so nice out that I decided to take a dip in the Puget Sound water. Pretty cold at first, but you quickly got used to it.
Juliana, Hannah, and Emma had a really good time playing in the water and sand.
And I think Coral had as good of a time as she could.
On Sunday, our friends David and Sam invited us to Sam's father's house on Angle Lake. It was a super nice day and we enjoyed jumping off this dock into the water a few dozen times. Julie has learned how to swim with her water wings on now. Still need to get her into swim lessons.
David and I did foolish stunts off the dock onto a big inner tube. It was awesome.
Bethany stuck this little quote from Psalm 139:14 on Coral's foot. Cute.
Last week, Seattle Mariners pitcher Félix Hernández threw a perfect game. It was the 23rd in MLB history, #3 for this year, and the first in Mariners history.
The Mariners started a clever marketing idea last season with fencing off a section of the stands for the "King's Court." This section gets a free King Félix t-shirt and sign with a big 'K' on them to hold up for strike-outs.
Well, we went to Félix's next start after his perfect game on Tuesday and were included in the 39,204 fans that went to see him. They turned the whole stadium into King's Court and called it "Supreme Court." All the attendees got t-shirts and signs to hold up.
It was one of the best M's games that I have ever been to. We all had lots of fun. And the Mariners won! It was Coral's first ballgame as well, and she did pretty darn good. To see more pictures from the game, the lake, the island, and the bachelor party, view the full set.
