Take a Round Voom

Got three new songs that I've been listening to a lot.

#3 Passion Pit - "Take a Walk"

Passion Pit's Manners was my #7 favorite album of 2009. I can't even tell you how many times I listened to "Sleepyhead" and "Moth's Wings." I'm always skeptical of follow-up albums, but their new one called Gossamer is top-notch. It is likely that you have heard their first single off of it already, but it really is quite good. "Take a Walk" is getting lots of airtime and is even in that Taco Bell commercial featuring the Doritos Locos taco. This probably isn't the last you've seen of PP on any of my lists.

#2 Imagine Dragons - "Round and Round"

You heard me praise Imagine Dragons last time for their amazing EP, Continued Silence. Since then, their LP called Night Visions came out and I'm just starting to listening to it. In the meantime, "Round and Round" is another song off of their EP that I love. Very catchy and singable.

#1 Bassnectar feat. Lupe Fiasco - "Vava Voom"

I've always known of Bassnectar, but have never really listened to much of his stuff before. I saw this music video for this just chillin' on the side of YouTube and checked it out. Boy, was I impressed. Love it! The beat is so awesome and Lupe Fiasco's rhymes are fresh. I enjoy the first half of the song far more than the second off, which might come as a surprise for some since the end of the song goes into a dubstep thing. The music video is pretty cool during that part with the multiplying of instruments and stuff. Reminded me of the cool effects you see a bit in The Green Hornet. "Vava Voom" comes off of Bassnectar's 2012 album of the same name, which came out in April. It's a good overall album if you are interested in picking it up.

What have you been listening to lately?
