Wild Save Anyone

Got three new songs that I've been listening to a lot.

#3 A$AP Rocky - "Wild for the Night (feat. Skrillex & Birdy Nam Nam)"

It's January and I've already met my quota of liking 1-2 rap albums yearly. A$AP Rocky's second album Long.Live.A$AP is just like Kendrick Lamar or KiD CuDi's second albums; more grown up and featuring a lot more bigger artists. "Wild for the Night" is not a single yet, but the track is a clear winner. It features music by popular dubstep artist Skrillex, as well as DJ/producer team Birdy Nam Nam. Others I've spoken to about this record say that this is their favorite song, too, so check it out. Warning: Lots o' swearing.

#2 Anberlin - "Someone Anyone"

Anberlin shows no signs of slowing down or failing to make great music. Their new album Vital turned out great and has been reviewed very well by critics. "Someone Anyone" is the first single off of the album because it's probably the catchiest track. There are a ton of other great songs on Vital worth listening to and could very well be on this list in the future. I got to see them perform this live when they opened for The Smashing Pumpkins and it was great. Full of energy.

#1 Haim - "Don't Save Me"

Haim had the honor of winning BBC's Sound of 2013, an annual music industry poll to find the most promising new musical acts for the coming year. One listen of "Don't Save Me" and you can see why. While the runner-ups are worthy candidates as well, Haim's song might be the best. It's the initial single for their upcoming first LP album yet to be named in 2013. People say their music sounds like girly folk-rock with a few R&B/hip-hop stylings thrown in. That description really doesn't do them justice.

What have you been listening to lately?
