I've had my craziest week at work this week and it's all thanks to our
I've been driving to work a lot since I'm working later. Nothing I hate more than getting off work late and having to catch the bus. However, this is the main reason you haven't been seeing as many blog posts. I do a lot of my writing on the bus, but since I'm not riding it now, it's harder for me to type things out.
I'm currently doing Atkins. Before you tell me how incredibly unhealthy you think it is, let me assure you that you are wrong. It works as long as you follow all of its rules. I'm not trying to change my lifestyle or anything. Just want to take off 15-20 lbs. for the time being. It's amazing how good it works. I like it a lot more than what I do during my diet bets.
Bethany has taken up making jewelry for fun lately. She's making some pretty neat stuff. She's not planning on selling any of it, but it's still a cool hobby.
Juliana is as cute as ever. She has been completely potty trained for a few months now. I love not changing diapers and taking out the diaper pail anymore. She is having success in public restrooms, too, which is fantastic. She is a quick learner. As I mentioned in the last Foto Friday, she's learning the United States. She has also mastered the technique of eating with chopsticks. She can even eat fried rice with them, which is a little more difficult since the rice is so small.
Luna has had a couple problems in the last month. For one, she got a pretty bad ear infection that we had to take her to the vet for. They gave us some meds and cream to give her which she struggled with. She's all good now and might even appreciate us helping her. Currently, she has cat acne. Yes, cats can get acne. We have taken the appropriate measures to cure that issue.
Exciting things are happening at our church. For one, they are moving to Sunday morning services. In the past, service has been in the early evening. We are also moving to a new location that will hopefully bring in more people since it's near a lot of neighborhoods. Earlier this summer, I was asked to help with our elementary school team and will be leading the 1st-3rd graders at church. I'm pretty stoked for this since I've always felt a calling to serve the church in some way or form, and I enjoy working with kids. All of the baseball coaching I did this past Spring has made me realize my teaching potential. Thankfully, I won't be alone. Our elementary school program is split, so another guy will be in charge of the 4th-6th graders. We're going to combine a lot of the games we play and the lesson portions of our time together.
The reason that there haven't been very many movie reviews lately is because I've been seeing the one same movie over and over again. I've seen Scott Pilgrim vs. The World five times now. I still love the movie! I could seriously watch it over and over again. I have the soundtrack and score to the film and listen to them pretty regularly. I haven't spoken to a single person who disliked the movie, but I've heard of one or two who might not have liked it. It's completely original and I'm sad that it's not making the money it deserves. I'm sure DVD/Bluray rental/sales will be good, but it's really a movie you should experience in theatres. There's lots of quick on-screen text and aspect ratio shifts and you can really only appreciate those things on the big screen. I should also note that I've seen Inception three times. I still like the movie a lot, but feel like I would only be able to watch it a couple more times. There is a lot of explaining in the film and it started to get tiring in my last viewing. The gravity shifting hallway fight doesn't get tiring though. =)
I think that's all I have to report right now. Thanks for sticking with me!
