Alter Yui Hirasawa Figure

I bought a doll.

No, I'm not ashamed to admit it. Actually, to be more precise, it's an anime figurine. But let's face it, it's a doll.

You may have heard me say once or twice that I enjoy the anime K-On. It is my new favorite anime of all-time.

Well, my new favorite anime character of all-time also comes from K-On. Yui Hirasawa is the main character of the show and she is, what I would call, my 2D girlfriend. Laugh through your teeth all you want, nothing will make me ashamed of my love for her.

Allow me to say that I've never had much interest in anime figures. I can enjoy looking at them here and there, but I never considered buying one before.

Enter Alter's 1/8 Hirasawa Yui PVC Figure. It's gorgeous. It's every bit of perfect. It's the most accurate figure I've ever seen based on an anime character. She looks just like she does in the show. Ever since I saw this figure, I had to have it.

I didn't pre-order it. That was a mistake. She sold out online the day she was released. You see, they make a limited number of these items. There were literally lines and fist fights in the stores over her at anime stores in Japan. I looked everywhere. Some people were smart and started putting her up on eBay for +50 of the price. I'm not going to pay $100 for a toy.

So, I waited. Every week, I did searches and checked auctions to see if anyone had her in stock. A couple weeks ago, I finally found her at an online hobby store for a decent price. And I know you are so happy for me. She sits next to my computer monitors on my desk from now on.
