Foto Friday - 6/15/12

This is my seventy-fifth Foto Friday post. The pictures today are from Coral's welcoming party and Flaming Geyser State Park. Full set with all 26 photos can be viewed here.

Coral is starting to smile at us now. She turned six weeks old on Wednesday and is still such a delight. Much easier to take care of than Julie at this age. Sleeping no less than four hours per night and had one miraculous night of seven and a half hours of sleep.

We had a welcoming party for Coral last Saturday. Since it's not quite traditional to have a baby shower for your second child, we decided that this would be a good way to celebrate Coral's birth. Lots of family and friends came over to my parent's house.

At one point during the party, we had everyone gather around for our children's dedications. You see, a few months after Juliana was born, we planned on having her dedicated at our house-warming party in Kent. Well, people got sick and it didn't work out, so we never did it. Fast forward to now and we figured that this would be a good time to get both girls dedicated.

We feel so blessed to have two healthy girls. My cousin Shannon took most of these shots during the dedication.

I love all the plants and flowers in my parents' backyard. Lots of bees were collecting around these flowers, so I snapped a few dozen macro pics.

Here we are with Pastor Ken who officiated the dedications.

It has been a bit since we've gotten a family picture together, so here is a good one with the grandparents.

Since Sunday was a nice day, we went to Flaming Geyser State Park to cool off in the creek. Flaming Geyser is quickly becoming my favorite park in the greater Seattle area. There's lots to explore.

I brought a bucket and shovel for Juliana to use at the creek, which she loved. We walked up and down the stream, which is shallow enough to walk in all the way down to the river. There were baby salmon swimming there, too.

We caught one in the bucket and I had Julie try to hold one. She was very brave about it and thought it tickled her hand. We let it go shortly after.

It was a fun day to play in the water. Will certainly do this again.

Got one more fun picture to share with you. This is Dave (who you may have seen next to me in that engineering team picture I shared from work) who has worked in the production industry pretty much all his life. He has saved most of his passes from working on events and shows all around the world. Really, really impressive collection. Some Super Bowl badges, baseball games, concerts... truly neat stuff.
