New Dirty Hands

Got three new songs that I've been listening to a lot.

#3 Of Monsters and Men - "Dirty Paws"

Of Monsters and Men's My Head is an Animal is turning out to be one of my favorite albums of 2012. There are plenty of songs that I enjoy on the record, but lately I've been listening to the first track, "Dirty Paws," a lot recently. I just love the build up in this song. It's also just a plain good first track. It introduces you to the band and what you can expect from them. Don't ask me what the song is about, or rather the purpose behind it.

#2 The Temper Trap - "Trembling Hands"

The Temper Trap's "Sweet Disposition" was like the song of 2009 for me. I adored that song. From the moment that I first heard it in 500 Days of Summer, to the time I used it in one of my family videos. Their first LP Conditions was my #4 album of 2009. Their new self-titled album just came out last month and I've had a good chance to listen to it. Definitely not anywhere near as good as their first album, but there are a couple good songs. "Trembling Hands" is my favorite out of the bunch. I still wish I had Dougy Mandagi's singing voice.

#1 Beach House - "New Year"

Just like with the previous album, Beach House's Bloom will almost definitely make my top ten favorite albums of the year list. Every track is good, but it's "New Year" that I can't get out of my head right now. The chorus is just so damn catchy that nothing seems to cure it. I can listen to all sorts of other songs during the day, but my mind will go back to this one no matter what. Have a listen.

What have you been listening to lately?
