Coral just grows in cuteness each and every day. She's starting to laugh now and is probably on the verge of giggles. She loves talking to me in her babytalk and standing. If I sit her down on my lap, she immediately sticks her legs out wanting to be held up. She's going to be a strong girl. She also began reaching out for things like toys and stuff. The other day, she tried to pull my dinner off the table.
Bethany and I had a rare night out last Thursday and went to a work party held on the MV Skansonia, which is an old ferry permanently docked on the north part of Lake Union in Seattle. I wasn't expecting too much, but it was actually really fun.
There was catered BBQ, free drinks, loud music, fun co-workers, warm weather, and good times. If you haven't been able to tell, the party was hillbillies themed. I would say that half the people dressed the part.
There was a fun little photo booth type thing set up where party goers could take pictures of themselves for others to use against them later. Here's some of the crew I work with at Microsoft.
The view of Seattle from the party was brilliant.
Last Friday, I took an extended lunch with Andrew, Randy, and John and we went to the I-90 floating bridge to watch the Blue Angels practice for SeaFair. Previously, Bethany and I would just go to my aunt's house on Mercer Island, but since they recently moved, we don't have that opportunity anymore.
Seeing them practice was actually a fantastic idea as it's less busy. Maybe I will have a zoom lens next year for better pictures.
If you get the chance to walk out towards the bridge, I highly recommend doing so. There were a couple times where the planes flew directly over our heads. Amazing!
Here's a short movie I took of four of the Blue Angels doing a banana peel thing and then meeting back up. You can watch this in 1080p HD since it was taken with my 5D!
Randy was like a kid in a candy store while watching the Blue Angels. It's the only time I've ever seen him get so pumped up about something. We took this fun picture of him in the middle of the freeway while I-90 was closed.
We went blueberry picking on Saturday at Larsen Lake again. We did it around this time last year and had a good time, so we brought Bethany's family along. There were plenty of blueberries, but the downside was that it was super hot. We saw the temperature reach 95 degrees there, and us Pacific Northwest folk just ain't used to that.
We did a good job avoiding the traffic of SeaFair, but that didn't stop the Blue Angels from flying by us while picking blueberries. It was good to see them again.
Been messing with color curves in Photoshop lately and I got this one. Love it.
The lake was really pretty with tons of fish and dragonflies all around. Very peaceful time.
Little miss Julie loves the unlimited sampling of blueberries.
Hiking back with our haul. We got tons of blueberries and the price is so cheap!
Later that day, we went to Bethany's parents' for a BBQ with Tawnya's friend Norma and her daughter, and set up the slip 'n' slide. Wanted to take some fast shutter speed shots of the girls sliding down. Here is Hannah.
Julie's turn! And Emma. She always got some good speed going down the slide.
Of course I had to have a go. I wonder how many times one of my nipples has appeared on this website. Hmm.
After a fun day of running through the water, it was time to roast our hot dogs over the fire.
There were lots of yummy side dishes, too.
Went to visit my grandma again as we typically do on Sundays. Seeing Coral always makes her happy.
In the afternoon, me, Juliana, my cousin RaeAnne, and our friends Sam and David went innertubing at Flaming Geyser State Park. The water wasn't as rough as the first time I took Julie and we had a marvelous time. Can't wait to do it again! To see more pictures from innertubing, the BBQ, blueberry picking, the Blue Angels, or the work party, view the full set.
