Fineshrine Drifting Higher

Got three new songs that I've been listening to a lot.

#3 Purity Ring - "Fineshrine"
Purity Ring is a Canadian electronic music duo from Montreal. Megan James and Corin Roddick comprise the band who perform vocals and instrumentals respectively. Think Chairlift with a slightly more poppy sound. Their debut album, Shrines, was released on July 24, 2012 and has been getting good reviews. The album reached #32 on the Billboard 200 and #2 on the Dance/Electronic Albums chart. Most of that has to do with their hit single "Fineshrine," which is a gorgeous song.

#2 TNGHT - "Higher Ground"
If you're not nodding your head to the beat by a minute into this song, there is something wrong with you. I love music that is just hip hop beats. Sure, lyrics could be added to them, but for some songs, it's not necessary. Keys N Krates is one of my favorite more recently hip hop remix artists, but TNGHT is a new one for me. "Higher Ground" is certainly their best song on their 5-song debut EP and it's got the beat to keep you goin'. Check it.

#1 Porcelain Raft - "Drifting In and Out"
Porcelain Raft is Italian-born Mauro Remiddi who plays a mix of dream-pop and shoegaze music. The first time I heard this song, I swore it was a woman singing, but nope... it's a dude. Speaking of first time I heard this song, it was on the trailer for the Rashida Jones and Andy Samberg indie romantic comedy, Celeste and Jesse Forever. His album, Strange Weekend, must have slipped by me as it was released near the beginning of the year, but that's okay because I still enjoyed discovering it. It's a solid album and I can already tell you to expect another song off of this next time.

What have you been listening to lately?
