Got three new songs that I've been listening to a lot.
#3 Justin Timberlake feat. Jay-Z - "Suit & Tie"
It's been over six years since JT has put out a new album, but he's finally doing so with The 20/20 Experience coming out in March. The first single is "Suit & Tie" and I can't say that I'm the biggest fan of the lyrics. What I love is the classy music, especially right at the end. Man, I could listen to just that awesome instrumental for hours. I'm talking about this part right here. Smooth.
#2 The Joy Formidable - "Forest Serenade"
Been listening to The Joy Formidable's new album for quite a bit now and I love it. It will definitely be one of my favorites of the year. "Forest Serenade" is not the best song on Wolf's Law, but it is still so good. Love the build ups, especially in the chorus. Ritzy really belts it out in this one. Don't think she does it like that live because of the risk of losing her voice.
#1 Anberlin - "God, Drugs & Sex"
Before you judge this song by its title, you should know that it's not as bad as you're thinking. The song is about a guy breaking up with a girl because she holds certain aspects of her life above God. It's not glorifying bad behavior in any way. Anberlin is a quote-unquote "Christian band." I say it that way because while they do not sing about Jesus all of the time, they do hold some values in Him. This is Anberlin's best song on Vital. I like it even more than "Someone Anyone." The existence of Christie DuPree's vocals in the song also makes it rock even harder. Solid song.
What have you been listening to lately?
