Foto Phriday - 6/20/14

This is my one hundred and third Foto Phriday post. The pictures today are from a playground, Julie's soccer party, and kindergarten graduation. Full set with all 29 photos can be viewed here.

I had to go into work a couple weekends ago to fix an important issue at work. I brought the girls along and took them to a playground after I was done.

Coral just gets smarter and cuter by the day. She seems to be more independent and talkative than Juliana at the same age. It's fun to watch how she grows differently since she has a big sister to look up to.

It might be a good time to mention an accident that Coral had a little over a month ago. While at another playground, she lost her footing and slammed her mouth into one of the structures really hard, causing lots of bleeding and sensitivity around her gums. We were worried for a bit, but it seemed to heal itself pretty well and caused no misplacement or long-term pain. She obviously still has her baby teeth, so it'll be fine, but we felt so bad for her. Probably the worst injury either of our girls have had.

Juliana is getting so tall and becoming a young lady. It's all happening too quick!

Juliana and her soccer team's spring season is over, so we had a picnic party where we also gave all the girls their trophies. I quite happy with how the team did overall this year. Very surprised at how good at passing they did during games, even when it wasn't necessary. Juliana is still shy about kicking the ball, but she had one game where she dribbled down the whole field twice and almost scored a goal. The last game was against one of the better teams in our league and we held them off really well by learning from their style of play. I'm looking forward to doing more assistant coaching next season.

Juliana also took part in her kindergarten graduation last week. This last Wednesday was her final day of school. The school year went by pretty quick and she is on to be a first grader. She learned all of her sight words, including half of the first grade words already, and got great grades on her report card. I am a proud daddy.

The kids all sang a few songs and there were some nice words from the school principal. It was cute and a fun time.

After graduation, all the parents were invited to their kid's classrooms for more songs, handing out certificates, and snack time. Here we are with our smart little girl.

Here is Juliana with her teacher, Mr. Duckett. Really nice guy who was generally pretty responsive to our e-mails and requests.

I'm sure Juliana is going to miss her kindergarten classroom, but I also know that she's going to do great in first grade. To see more pictures from her graduation and more, view the full set.
