This is my one hundred and fourth Foto Phriday post. The pictures today are from playing in the creek, camping, and a night festival. Full set with all 80 photos can be viewed here.
Took the girls to one of our favorite play spots in Flaming Geyser State Park a couple weekends ago. Picked up some Wendy's along the way and ate lunch next to the creek.
As soon as the girls were done eating, they got right to playing in the water.
Coral does not like even when there's a speck of dirt on her hand. A little difficult when playing in a creek.
Someone tried to block up the creek.
"I found a stick."
While the water was cold at first, the girls got used to it.
On the last weekend of June, we went camping at Ohanapecosh Campground in Mount Rainier National Park. It rained a lot, but we still managed to have fun.
Ohanapecosh River was moving pretty good. In the later part of summer, it gets slower and you can swim in it.
The girls attended a junior ranger meeting where they learned about some of the many animals you can find in Mount Rainier National Park. Juliana also became an official Junior Ranger and had to swear an oath and got a badge.
After that, we went on this self-guided trail to see the hot springs.
The forest is magical out here.
Most of the hot springs is too shallow to even wade in, but someone dug out a tub to soak in. We did not try it.
My parents with the girls on the trail.
Staying in my parents' R-Pod camper is quite cozy.
The girls loved pretending to put on shows at the campground's amphitheater.
A couple of goofballs standing on a giant chair made from a log.
Bethany turned the big 3-0 on July 4th, so for the evening before, I planned a surprise overnight stay at the Hyatt in Bellevue. I booked the date night package, which is a screaming deal that includes free valet service, a bottle of champagne sent to your room, a $75 voucher to any Bellevue Collection restaurant, two free movie tickets, free in-room or buffet breakfast, and late 2 p.m. checkout.
Our stay in Bellevue was great. The hotel was nicer than I thought and our views of the city and Lake Washington were great. I love the city of Bellevue as it feels like Seattle, but a lot cleaner and safer.
We've been having some amazing weather in the greater Seattle area lately. 70s to low 90s, typically. Tawnya recently bought a kayak, so we took it for a spin out on Lake Wilderness in Maple Valley.
Coral just played in the water. Here she is pretending like she's not loving it.
This past weekend, the International District in Seattle held a night festival with music, booths, and tons of food carts. It was packed though!
We got a few snack items at some food carts, but decided to hit up a restaurant since most of the lines were so long. We went to Jade Garden on King and 7th for a family style dinner.
I've never seen Chinatown this busy. Especially at night.
That place was bumpin' 'til midnight. Apparently there will be another night festival like this in September. To see more photos from the festival, camping, and creek play, view the full set.
