Foto Phriday - 11/21/14

This is my one hundred and fifth Foto Phriday post. Sorry it has been so long since my last post. Simple reason is I've been busy. The pictures today are from Harstine Island, Cam-Fu and Friends, Seattle, PAX, work, Remlinger Farms, Juliana's birthday, Carpinito Brothers corn maze, soccer, and Phoebe's birthday. Full set with all 199 photos can be viewed here.

As we have in the past couple years, we went out to Harstine Island with our friends, Norma and Russ, and their girls. This was back in August while we were having some of the best weather we've ever seen here in the Pacific Northwest. You could even see Mount Rainier from the island.

Coral enjoys scooping water into a bucket whenever we go to a beach. She wasn't here for long as the tide came in really quick.

Julie, Hannah, and Emma were all over the place and also had a good time. And that's Tawnya back there paddling around in her new kayak.

What did I do? Well, I caught crabs.

Let's talk about Cam-Fu and Friends! We had been doing the audio podcast again, fairly regularly. It got me in the mood to try and shoot another video episode. We planned out 5-6 pre-taped video segments to play during the live show and almost all of them went really well. Here is the setup for our taste test shoot, which was inspired by BuzzFeed's awesome videos.

Any guesses on what they are about to consume here? I can't wait to show you all this video. You should be able to watch it and the others by the end of November or early December, I am hoping.

My cousin Tom came out to visit for a weekend so he could talk to a Seattle college and scope out some living areas here for after he gets out of the Air Force. We took him to the Seattle waterfront on his free day and ate fish and chips at Ivar's. Love feeding the seagulls french fries here.

It was another bright and sunny day.

The girls by the fountain on the waterfront with the Seattle Great Wheel behind it. Julie and I went on that last year.

I attended one day of PAX Prime this year. It's our biggest gaming convention here in Seattle.

League of Legends is still such a big deal. Just to prove it, here are hundreds of people packed in a room to watch a LoL tournament.

I got to demo quite a few upcoming games and check out some cool booths. Twitch had an awesome setup and had just been purchased by Amazon. I hope they don't ruin it like they did with Woot. Speaking of Twitch though, I stream my gameplay quite often on there. Feel free to watch or follow me at twitch.tv/camknows.

Evolve had an amazing showing with a giant monster and lots of demo stations.

The NBC Sunday Night Football bus came to the Microsoft campus before the kickoff of the season.

Now, I'm not a big football fan, but I can appreciate when something like the Lombardi trophy makes it out my way. Still, representing soccer with my Sounders FC shirt.

Hanging out around this area at Flaming Geyser State Park was our favorite thing to do this summer on the really hot days. The river water is refreshingly cold and some nice folks arranged rocks to make shallow pools for Julie and Coral to play in.

Coral and I had a daddy-daughter day and went to Remlinger Farms out in Carnation. She's just the right age to really enjoy this place. I don't know where she gets this not smiling in pictures face from, but I promise you that she had an absolute blast.

I was worried that she was going to be too young for some of the rides, especially the ones where she needs to hang on by herself, like the merry-go-round. But she did great. I took Julie to Remlinger Farms on the last year she was young enough to do it. It really is a place for the smaller kids.

The flying corn ride and this small train were new additions to the park, compared to last time. Coral went on pretty much all of the rides at least 3 times each (there aren't that many, still), except for the little kiddie coaster and the peddle carts because she's not tall enough.

This one is beautiful.

My first cousin once removed (cousin's daughter), Shelbie, has gotten into writing and performing her own music. I had her come into the studio the other day to record a song on video for Cam-Fu and Friends.

Juliana turned 7 on October 2nd. My goodness how time flies. I know we say that all the time about our children, but it's really true. We celebrated that night at her favorite restaurant (Red Robin).

We went back to the house for presents and dirt cake after. These two wore matching dresses.

Her birthday party with friends was Sailor Moon themed and Bethany made this awesome cake.

We had the party at my parents' house, but afterwards took everyone to the Federal Way Community Center to go swim at their indoor pool complex. Sorry, no pictures from there because my camera does not like water.

Juliana is taking ballet at the British Dancing Academy and is enjoying it.

With school, Girl Scouts, soccer, and ballet, Juliana is quite the busy girl.

October is here, which means visiting pumpkin farms and going through corn mazes. Our friends Kristy and Brian and Sam and David both had babies recently, so our group of friends is quickly growing.

We all did the corn maze together at the Carpinito Brothers pumpkin patch. Coral seemed to understand it a lot more this year.

Juliana's second season of soccer went well. I was assistant coach again, but got to be head coach for a couple games due to our normal head coach being out of town. I'm enjoying teaching these girls soccer skills.

Juliana was very close to scoring a goal this year, but just barely missed.

My twin niece and nephew had their birthdays in October and we got just the family together to celebrate. Here is Phoebe with some of her gifts.

Singing happy birthday to Phoebe. To see more photos from the two birthdays, pumpkin patch, PAX, and more, view the full set.
