This is my ninety-third Foto Phriday post. The pictures today are from our Oscar Party and Seattle at night. Full set with all 23 photos can be viewed here.
Two Sundays ago, we had our 4th annual Oscar Party. It's one of my favorite days of the year as it's a celebration of the year and all of the great movies that came from it. Coral enjoyed showing off on the red carpet.
Don't have very many pictures of me, so I had Bethany snap this one. I've also lost a bunch of weight since the first video podcast we did. I looked too big on camera. XD
Bethany, Tawnya, and Juliana on the red carpet.
We continued the tradition of having a "This is Why You're Fat" Potluck during our parties. We ask folks to bring the craziest and most creative food to share. Have been some great choices these past years and this year was no different. Bethany made these peanut butter Oreo brownie cupcakes. They tasted so much better than I thought they would. Great combo.
Jason and Molly made pizza tacos. Another one that surprised me for how yummy they were.
Sarah and Scott brought ratatouille and these churro waffles with dipping sauces.
The winning dish of the night was Sam and David's bacon wrapped french fries. Unfortunately, I'm dumb and failed to take a picture of the actual fries, but trust me when I say that they were devilishly delicious.
Tawnya made cookie dough cupcakes where the frosting tasted just like cookie dough, minus the eggs.
My dad made these Academy Award-shaped sugar cookies. If there was an award for best design, this would have won. They were the runners-up in the food contest.
Coral had a little bit of chocolate.
Last Sunday evening, I went to a rock concert with my 5D (pictures here) and decided to take some night shots of Seattle along the way.
Gonna have to practice some more night shots before my Japan trip since that city is pretty much neon central. Seattle is very yellow at night, and I don't mean that in a racist way at all.
Speaking of my Japan trip, there was a little drama with it a couple weeks ago. ANA had been switching the grounded 787 Dreamliner with the Boeing 777, but then they decided to cancel all flight from Seattle to Tokyo until June. I was a little freaked out and had to call the airline. They switched me to United for the same flying days, only it leaves an hour earlier on both ends. Still a 777 airplane, but totally fine with me.
Seattle is a gorgeous city at night. The people... well, that's another story.
Almost to the concert venue. That City Target is new and I know lots of folks who are happy to have it there. It doesn't have quite the amount of merchandise that a normal Target store would have, but it at least provides for some cheaper goods.
