Foto Phriday - 11/29/13

This is my ninety-ninth Foto Phriday post. The pictures today are from Halloween, our home, and the playground. Full set with all 37 photos can be viewed here.

Halloween was a hit for us this year. While searching for a costume for Coral, Bethany stumbled upon this outfit based off of Fionna from the cartoon Adventure Time. We are fans of the show, so it was hard to deny our pleasure of seeing Coral in this. Adorable.

Juliana was Pinkie Pie from My Little Pony this year. We even temp dyed her hair pink!

As we've done in the past few years, we went trick-or-treating with the girls' friends, Emma and Hannah. This was Coral's first time really trick-or-treating and she caught on quick. She was really confused at the first house we went to, but after she saw the person put candy in her bucket, she immediately got it. After that, she was all about trying to keep up with the bigger kids and get as much candy as she could.

The appeal of Elmo is an amazing thing. We have been letting Coral start to watch Sesame Street lately. There's just something in childrens' DNA that tells them to love Elmo. We did not encourage her to like Elmo, but she took to him almost instantly.

Posting this to remind everyone that, yes, we have a cat. Luna is (should be) happy and is still so good around Coral, despite the stalking and tail-pulling at times.

Juliana is doing as well as we could ever hope for in kindergarten. She got a 92% on her most recent sight words quiz and is really starting to pick up reading. I'm constantly amazed by the longer words that she is able to recognize simply from sounding things out. She also recently started Girl Scouts, which Bethany is helping lead. That is keeping both of them rather busy.

As for me? Well, things are going well. I have a few things I want to do in the pipeline. Cam-Fu and Friends will be coming back soon, hopefully. I'm trying to keep taking pictures, but it always gets more difficult with the colder weather and less daylight. The 100th Foto Phriday is next, so I'm hoping to do something special for that. I haven't been getting out to the movies as often as the last couple years, but I've been seeing what I want. Also need to start thinking about my end of the year family video. There's not enough time in the day.

The girls and I have been getting over our nasty coughs this cold season. I'm pretty sure we all have bronchitis. This has also been preventing us from getting out more for pictures, but we're recovering now, so we took the girls to a local playground. Coral still had a coughing fit after running up and down these ramps.

Peek-a-boo!

For the last of the big news, Julie has finally lost one of her big central incisors. The other one is very loose, so maybe all she'll want for Christmas are her two front teeth. She's already lost the bottom two, which have filled back in.

We had a busy Thanksgiving. We visited both families, but only had dinner with my family since it was their year to host Turkey Day.

Nick brought his kiddos to Thanksgiving dinner at Keith and Joyce's.

There were two different birds for my parents' Thanksgiving dinner. Both were delicious.

My cousin Shannon brought a dog she is taking care of through Rover.com. She works for the company and loves dogs. This corgi was very cute.

We ended the day with three pies; a pumpkin pie, an apple pie, and a chocolate satin pie. To see more pictures of Thanksgiving, Julie's new smile, us at home, and Halloween, view the full set.
